As we prepare for the Holiday Season, we want to thank you for the support and love you have given to Columbus. For over 50 years we have been providing a safe, enriching space for individuals with disabilities. We could not have done this without the generosity of our donors, businesses, and families.
Over the years, Columbus has made a life-changing impact on so many individuals. Steve Dial, whose mother was one of the founding parents has been with Columbus since 1968. As one of the initial 8 students to attend Columbus, Steve began his career learning and honing skills — becoming Columbus’s “Worker of the Year” in 2012. Steve retired in 2016 after nearly 5 decades of pride and dignity through with his work.
As we enter into our next 50 years, we will continue to provide the support, care, and love to those we serve. With your support, we will continue to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities. With your continued support, we can have an impact on so many more lives.
Your support provides Janice a safe, nurturing space for her during day-time hours through our Activities program. This allows her to join in arts, crafts, and educational activities. She also gets to socialize with her friends, join special activities and “explore the world” with special outings throughout the month.
With your support, Dylan has participated in our Columbus Connects program which has helped him develop work skills that resulted in full-time employment with Boeing. Since being employed, Dylan has become more confident and outgoing. At 23, Dylan is so happy with his job, he plans to retire from Boeing.
The support you provide gives Belinda the chance to work side-by-side with her peers at Harmons. She enjoys her time at work laughing, learning, telling jokes and developing new friendships. Her participation in our Supported Employment program has given her an opportunity she or her family never dreamed possible.
This year we ask that you make Columbus a priority for your end-of-year-giving. A $50 donation for our 50-year celebration will make a difference for individuals like Steve, Janice, Dylan, and Belinda. A $50 donation will change a life.
Your support is life-changing for individuals with disabilities.
