Kristy Chambers

Chief Executive Officer

Kristy Chambers serves as the CEO of Columbus Community Center and is the former CEO of The Fourth Street Clinic. She has dedicated the last 20 years of her career to the nonprofit, social services sector developing programs and overseeing large building projects.  A certified public accountant, Kristy’s professional background includes public accounting and top-level management positions in healthcare, real estate, retail, and hospitality.  She has served on several local and national nonprofit boards including as the Board Chair for the Utah Nonprofit Association (UNA), Utah Health Policy Project (UHPP), South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce (SSLC), and the Association of Utah Community Health (AUCH).  As a prior instructor with the University of Utah Nonprofit Academy of Excellence and a current requested guest speaker, she continues to serve her community by developing future nonprofit leaders.  Kristy graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics/Business and has a Masters degree in Business Taxation from the Washington School of Law.

Dylan McDonnell

Chief Operations Officer

Dylan joined Columbus in 2012. As the Chief Operations Officer, he is responsible for the operation, budget, and financial health of the businesses that Columbus operates to employ people with significant disabilities.

Prior to joining Columbus, Dylan served as C.O.O of Rio Management, an Event management & staffing company. Dylan has managed Presidential Campaigns, worked in outreach for a healthcare non-profit at the University of Utah. Dylan is currently serving as Columbus’s representative on the Governor’s Committee on Employment with People with Disabilities, he is on the Executive Board of Utah Works, and is currently serving as Past Chair of Disability In, Utah.

Dylan Graduated from the University of Utah with an BA in Middle East Studies – Hebrew, a BA in Political Science, and an MA in Middle East Studies – Political Science.

Kevin Keyes

Chief Compliance Officer

Kevin has three decades of experience working in human services. He joined Columbus in 1985 and has served as assistant administrator since 2001. During his tenure, he has served in a senior management capacity during all of Columbus’s major expansions. Currently, he oversees the compliance for Columbus’s residential, day activity, and vocational programs. Since 1999, Kevin has been a surveyor for CARF. In this capacity, he conducts site surveys at rehabilitation organizations throughout the United States and Canada to determine adherence to CARF standards.

Monica Owen

Chief Development Officer

Monica has over 30 years of nonprofit leadership serving in executive director, development director and events director positions in local organizations. She has extensive experience in organizational and program management, grant writing, marketing strategy, training, donor management and stewardship, event planning and fundraising. Monica joined Columbus in 2017, bringing our fundraising revenue to higher levels with her grant writing and fundraising skills. She has a passion for her work, and continually looks for innovative ways to accomplish her goals. She is committed to expanding our capacity at Columbus by working closely with our donors and community so that individuals with disabilities can lead productive, independent lives.

Jessica Hawke

Chief Financial Officer

Jessica comes to Columbus with over twenty years of upper-level accounting and management experience in the service and beverage industries. She has proven successful in creating and implementing financial plans emphasizing internal and cost controls. Jessica graduated from the University of Central Florida with a double major in accounting and criminal justice and a minor in math. She looks forward to empowering and mentoring the accounting staff and becoming an integral part of the Columbus management team.

Dawn Jones

Chief Human Resources Officer

A Utah native Dawn joins Columbus with 13 years of Human Resource experience. She is passionate about employment law, and employee relations and strives for employee equality. She has a Business/Economics degree from Westminster College and a Master of Human Resources degree. She is certified as both a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
